25. “It wasn’t so much what she said, as it was what she did. When my daughter was about 4 years old, I heard her talking in her sleep. I got up to check up on her and to ‘wake’ her and ask if she had to use the restroom. She shook her head yes, so I took her into the bathroom. I knew she was still asleep even though she was going through the motions because her eyes were glazed over and had a blank look. She sat down to use the restroom, then slowly started rocking forward and backward. Weird? Yeah, but whatever. Then, she slowly started creepily laughing. I asked her if everything was okay. She continued to rock and laugh.”
“I tried a few more times to get her to talk to me, and she continued to laugh and rock. Finally, I asked her, ‘What’s so funny?’ The rocking came to an abrupt stop; she slowly raised her head and eyes to ‘look’ at me (while her eyes were still glazed over), and said, ‘You are.’ Then she went back to rocking and laughing. I was done at that point, so I asked her if she was done and took her right back to bed. Took me a little while to fall back asleep.”
